Airline Division Failure
|
Below
is a negotiations update that was sent to us from IAD. It appears to be a
reaction from our previous publications pointing out the fact the IBT Airline
Division didn't do their job and fulfill the request of the committee to
provide the needed information about "Teamcare" so they may or may
not include it in the "comprehensive proposal" that was supposed to
be submitted to the mediator for approval.
Again
we point out the fact the AD was asked to provide this needed information
back in August. Instead, the AD chose to ignore the request in favor of more
organizing and addressing other issues they find more important than our
negotiations.
Now
the negotiations are pushed back at least another month. Doesn't this sound
familiar to the seniority integration that's been stagnant for a couple of
years? Hell, the whole negotiation process has been stagnant for a couple of
years.
Some
negotiators have mentioned that "Teamcare" is one option they are
looking at. OK. What are the others?
Finally,
from an insider we were tipped that the reason the mediator strong armed the
negotiations was because he felt the Airline Division didn't have a clue on
how to negotiate an amalgamated contract. That makes sense. The AD has
fumbled their way through the whole representational job here at UAL. Why
should this be different?

UNITED MECHANICS FOR THE REAL TRUTH Issue
#1
What the KING fails to realize is:
1) The IBT has been doing their job by recognizing the need
to introduce Team Care because of the exorbitant Health Care costs that hurt
the technicians and their families.
2) The KING fails to realize that in order to make a Health
Care Proposal of this magnitude that completely takes the company out of the
Health Care business it will take a lot of work and time.
3) The KING fails to realize that every aspect of Health
Care will be in this proposal. Instead the KING wishes to hold court and issue
his misleading edicts only as a dictator does.
I urge everyone to please search out for the truth. It is easier to mis-lead then to explain the
arduous task our negotiating team has when they negotiate against a company
that doesn’t respect the profession of an AMT.
